Campus spring election results
The top positions across four student unions have been decided.
The Student Representative Council (SRC) Spring Elections took place on 5 and 6 of March. Duncan Calvert was elected as President, winning against Hamza Ramzan and Muhammad Waseem. Frank Chen was elected as Vice President Student Support, beating Tasmina Ahmed, Ayshah Jansen, and Rahul Ramesh Baviskar.
Ayush Garg was elected as Vice President Education, beating Gerardo Guio Archila and Aimee Storer. Vice President Student Activities remains vacant after the position had no nominees. This election had the highest turnout for an SRC Election since 2017.
The Glasgow University Union (GUU) Annual Election took place on 6 March. Angus MacDonald was elected as President, winning against Xaiver Lake and Rachel Webster. Ewan Anderson was elected as Honorary Secretary, uncontested.
Patrick Stewart was elected as Assistant Honorary Secretary, beating Tess Kojey-Merle. The GUU is the only student union on campus whose executive positions are non-sabbatical.
The Queen Margaret Union (QMU) Annual Election also happened on 5 and 6 March. Lucy Stobie was elected as President, unopposed. Bee Richard was elected as Vice President, Memberships Clubs, and Societies. She beat Ross Bryson. Urja Singh was elected as Vice President Board of Management, also unopposed.
The Glasgow University Sports Association (GUSA) Annual Election took place on 5 and 6 March. Karl Kirkpatrick was reelected as President, following a year in the position. He was unopposed, and is currently the only executive member on campus to be reelected.
Lexie McDiarmid was elected as Vice President, defeating Euan Marney, Lilly Roy, and Alex Wong. Dan De Luca was elected as Secretary, winning against Owen Headley.
