The independent student newspaper of the University of Glasgow
Odhran Gallagher
Editor-in-Chief
I am the current Editor-in-Chief and one of the founding members of Hillhead Review and a student of History and Scottish Literature. I've been thrilled about where we've been able to take the paper so far and I hope to continue this good work in the future in the form of a seasonal print run as well as branching out into other digital media avenues.
You can read some of my work below. My main areas of interest this year are in the ongoing disputes on campus between the University management and student groups campaigning for divestment from the arms industry, as well as scrutinising the University's future plans and investment in growing numbers of students.
I am very passionate about strong and effective student media, largely as a result of how The Glasgow Guardian was so welcoming to me at the beginning of my studies, allowing me to develop my skills as a journalist and hopefully set me on the path to a career in the trade. Now I'm in the final year of my undergraduate degree, my guiding aim is to build something which will similarly enable future generations of student journalists to do the same.
